1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Talecrypt ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service, or at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. VIP Subscription & Payment
VIP membership unlocks all chapters for the duration of your subscription. Chapters opened during your membership remain unlocked after expiration. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled. Refunds: full refund within 7 days of purchase if fewer than 3 paid chapters have been accessed. Subsequent refund requests within 90 days require manual review; additional refunds may be denied.
5. Content & Copyright
Talecrypt publishes translations of public domain classical Chinese texts. The original English translations, editorial content, and interface design are protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or scrape any content without written permission. If you believe content infringes your copyright, see our Copyright Complaint page.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) bypass or attempt to bypass the paywall; (b) scrape, crawl, or harvest content; (c) abuse refunds or create multiple accounts; (d) interfere with the Service's operation; (e) use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
7. Content Disclaimer
Stories on Talecrypt are translations of classical works dating from the 17th-19th centuries. They may contain themes of ghosts, supernatural horror, violence, and cultural concepts that may not align with modern sensibilities. Content is provided for literary and educational purposes. Talecrypt does not endorse any such beliefs or practices.
8. Third-Party Services
We use third-party payment processors (LemonSqueezy), analytics (Google Analytics), and advertising services. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. Talecrypt is not responsible for the practices of third-party services.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE ACCESS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TALECRYPT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TALECRYPT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be notified via email or on-site notice.
